What a gorgeous summer night to capture engagement photos in the Short North! Melissa and Alec were so much fun to be around and sure made my job easy. We started the shoot on the rooftop of a local parking garage. I've shot here several times and it's always one of my favorite locations. I just really like the clean crisp modern aesthetic which seemed to suit their style perfectly.
My favorite thing about this couple was their energy and playfulness with each other and fun-loving attitudes. It truly made the shoot so much fun!
Not taking yourselves too seriously can really break the ice a bit and loosen things up! It's often the moments between the moments and poses that turn out to be the best images anyhow, so don't be afraid to be a little goofy and just have fun together.
About halfway through the shoot we took a few minutes for a wardrobe change – and I love the classic black! They both looked so chic and their wardrobe choices were perfect for our evening stroll down High St. in the Short North.
We couldn't resist incorporating the iconic Short North arches for a few photos.
We strolled down a few side streets for a little pop of color from the many murals all over the neighborhood.
After a little walk through High St we headed back up to the parking garage to soak up the remaining light of the day.
