Once you're engaged, nothing kicks off wedding planning quite like choosing a venue. Columbus, Ohio is home to countless phenomenal wedding venues and they’re all unique! I’ve been a photographer for nearly 20 years here in Columbus, and I’d love to help point you in the right direction as you pursue a venue that aligns with your priorities, style, and guest list size.
I’ll admit it: when I set out to write this blog, I aimed to share my top four venues. For better or worse, I couldn’t narrow it down to just four!
So here are this photographer’s top TEN venues in Columbus, Ohio (in no particular order). What can I say? I couldn't help myself. Oh, and don't hesitate to click the image to see it in full view... some of these images are my all time favorites. Enjoy!
For a classic, elegant wedding in Downtown Columbus, The Ohio Statehouse is hard to beat. From show stopping columns and staircases to the special events coordinator whose services are included in your price, this venue is famous for a reason. As a backdrop for photography, the architecture and lighting will frame your unique love in grandeur.
No matter what time of year you tie the knot, you and your guests can simultaneously be both indoors and outdoors, with perfect weather guaranteed, in a tropical destination, without leaving Columbus, Ohio. Truly, there’s no place like the FPC. The Bride’s Garden, The Palm House, and the Grand Atrium all feature excellent lighting for photos and, of course, surround you with the beauty of nature.
Especially if you are an art enthusiast or a lover of architecture, the Columbus Museum of Art blends culture and creativity into your wedding day. Within the CMA, multiple location options seamlessly accommodate a range of group sizes, up to 300 guests. With an in-house caterer and color around every corner, the museum is a stunning option.
Under one roof, The Westin can accommodate your ceremony, reception, and (of course) bedrooms for you and your 50-300 guests. The whole place is gorgeous, the food is delicious, and if you book the Grand Ballroom, they offer one free night’s stay to the happy couple. For Columbus couples whose top wedding priority is bighearted hospitality, I’ll just plan on seeing you at The Westin.
Located in Columbus, Ohio’s iconic Brewery District for over 140 years, The High Line Car House offers couples a spacious reception area that comfortably accommodates all their loved ones. The massive windows and the industrial-but-warm ambience provide a beautiful backdrop for portraits. Able to seat 200 guests for dinner by their fabulous caterer, Together & Co., High Line Car House is convenient and memorable for guests, vendors, and hosts!
At the helm of The Revery at North 4th Corridor is industry leader Milo’s Catering, offering an out-of-this-world culinary experience for you and your guests. This 4,000 square foot glass-enclosed rooftop venue seats up to 225 guests whose jaws will hit the floor the moment they enter the space. For an idyllic photography setting that features Columbus’ breathtaking skyline, The Revery can’t be beat.
Offering indoor-outdoor spaces and an incredible view of the Columbus skyline, The Fives is an epic, upscale experience for my couples and their guests. Together & Co food and beverages never disappoint, so come hungry. Whether your vows are exchanged on the Rooftop Terrace or the Social Hall and Patio, expect a backdrop with the “wow factor” that makes The Fives such a gem.
Located in the heart of downtown Columbus, the Athletic Club of Columbus is close to picturesque hotels and stunning cathedrals. The recommended capacity in this historic space is 200 guests, you can host up to 300. From decorating ACC’s statement fireplace in foliage for an intimate ceremony to elevating the ballroom’s gold details, my couples and their vendor teams have transformed and personalized this space with such beautiful creativity.
Lastly, I have to mention their incredible staff. The ACC experience is so magical because their team is so passionate about serving everyone who enters. So if you value history, sophistication, and a dance floor spacious enough for everyone, ACC is the place to be.
If you’re interested in venues outside of downtown Columbus, Jorgensen Farms’ Oak Grove has set and held the bar for rustic-chic greenhouse weddings. This unique venue channels the most beautiful nature in the Midwest into a seamless planning experience and a romantic fairytale wedding. Picked from charming farmland as far as the eye can see, their catering features organic herbs and their floral arrangements are second to none. I could go on and on, but trust me: there is a reason couples are booking this unique venue 2-3 years in advance.
