Holly and Billy’s wedding celebration at High Line Car House was definitely one for the books! The anticipation of this long-awaited day combined with their joyful energy just really set the tone for the day. They were truly immersed in every moment which made it easy for all of their family and friends to do the same.
The couple had previously exchanged vows in a small and intimate ceremony here in Columbus. As Holly and Billy began married life surrounded by immediate family, they looked forward to celebrating big with all their people, and boy, did they! The day started at the iconic Hotel LeVeque in the heart of downtown Columbus.
After getting to know Holly and Billy a bit at their engagement session and seeing how sweet and playful they were with one another, I just knew that their first look on THE big day was going to be special. On the day of the celebration, Holly’s gown from La Jeune Mariee channeled old Hollywood glam. Sure enough, when Billy saw her, it was all smiles and joy.
From there, we took photos around Hotel LeVeque and laughed until our faces hurt from smiling. The sun reflected beautifully off the many windows of Downtown Columbus and the gold details of the courthouse where the two had said “I do” the year before.
Although the occasions were one year apart, the Stups’ wedding and reception were both right around New Year’s Eve, and they found show-stopping ways to integrate that theme into the celebration.
Sparks and Champagne at High Line Car House
After a quick trolley ride to one of my favorite venues, High Line Car House, I entered in amazement. Tall votives illuminated the space with candlelight. Kida Flower House outdid themselves with an array of soft roses and hydrangeas that reminded me of New Year’s Eve fireworks. When the wedding party was introduced, sparks flew (literally, thanks to the brilliant cold-spark props by Party Pleasers) as the Mr. and Mrs. basked in the heartfelt entrance they deserved. Holly and Billy danced and jumped into their reception while the cheers of their loved ones filled the air!
The excitement didn’t stop there. DJ Jeffermon played every wedding classic (and then some), making sure that the dance floor was never empty.
To end an already incredible night, I managed to capture one of my all-time favorite images: the wedding party cheering together in a shower of champagne. What a reflection of their love for each other, and the joy they shared as they celebrated with their people. Holly and Billy, photographing your wedding was such a blast. In your marriage, I hope that each year is more adventurous and fun than the last.
Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Stup!
